My Preschool’s Young Toddler program is for children ages 12 to 18 months old.
Young toddlers are all about moving and exploring! We provide a safe and exciting environment that invites exploring and discovering. We also orchestrate a complete set of routine activities during the day to ensure that all areas such as language, social and emotional balance and physical development are cultivated through gross motors skills, fine motors skills by using hands and fingers (as in finger painting and other arts and crafts), games and music.
Daily reading and singing promotes language development from the early months of infancy until age 5. Our teachers read and sing to the children throughout the day, teaching them new words, rhymes and songs that you will likely learn from your children at home 🙂
Infants and toddlers learn through their own experiences, trial and error, repetition and identification. Adults guide and encourage this learning process by ensuring that the environment is safe and emotionally supportive.
Our staff enjoy working with children and are warmly responsive to their needs. They know what skills and behaviors emerge during the first few years and support children as they become increasingly competent and knowledgeable.
The staff is trained in CPR and first aid. The group size and ratio of adults to young toddlers is limited to 1:4, allowing for a lot of one-to-one interaction, intimate knowledge of individual children and consistent care.
